Since it started in 1988 thousands of children have passed through the doors of a little pre-school in Cape Town that existed to serve working families who couldn’t afford day-care. At God’s Little Lighthouse, children from marginalised communities – Masiphumelele and Ocean View – have been loved, fed, cared for and encouraged to learn and grow.

Sadly, Pam Keightley, the driving force behind the school, passed away in July. The pre-school and after care centre is set to close its doors at the end of 2019.

Victory Church Cape Town has had an offer accepted to buy the property on which God’s Little Lighthouse operated. The vision is to open a new not-for-profit pre-school in its place and provide a familiar, safe space to continue to care for the children. But we also plan for immeasurably more:

  • Enabling children’s spiritual, emotional, physical and academic growth
  • Providing a nurturing environment with caring, loving and qualified teachers
  • Inspiring children to dream and believe they can achieve anything!

Our goal is to raise three million rand (R3 000 000 or £175 000 or $215 000) to enable the launch of Victory Kids Pre-School in January 2020.

Big or small, every contribution is an investment in the future of children in South Africa. There are many ways to give to Victory Kids Pre-School.

We can’t fix all the problems that affect the children of South Africa. But we can begin with what is in front of us. We want to make a difference in the lives of children at risk by laying foundations for their education. This educational environment will say to them:
You are important. Your actions matter. The future is bright for you.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
